    Frequently asked questions

How many people can use one Portable Toilet?

One single cubicle toilet unit is suitable for up to 7 people working a normal 40 hour week. If you’re likely to exceed this you might need more than one unit.

Do I have to empty the Portable Toilet myself?

NO! We clean and service our portable toilets on a weekly basis. This is included in the hire cost. Our staff are experienced and fully trained and ensure the portable toilets are emptied and in a clean condition for use.

How often do you service the Toilet?

We service all our Portable Toilets on a weekly basis as part of the hire cost so you don’t need to worry and the toilets will be kept in a serviceable condition.

When do you service the Toilet?

All of our toilet servicing is done between 7.30am and 4.30pm weekdays. This excludes bank holidays and weekends, unless by special arrangement. This is to ensure the portable toilets are ready for use throughout the week and are continually in a good condition for use.

If you’re booking toilets for an event then servicing during your event can be arranged; we are happy to discuss your specific requirements on booking.

Do I need to be on site when you deliver/collect the Toilets?

This is helpful if access is needed to the site, eg. Gates unlocked, etc. However, if you are happy to ensure there is clear access and provide any specific delivery instructions, we are happy to deliver or collect without the need of anyone on site, saving you time and hassle for your portable toilet hire.

Where is the best location for a toilet unit?

To deliver and collect the toilet we will need clear access to the site where it will be placed and clear access to service the unit. For servicing the unit will need to be positioned no more than 10 metres from the service vehicle in order to empty and clean the unit thoroughly. The toilet should be positioned on level ground and away from any doors or windows that will require access. Our Operatives cannot manually lift the toilet over walls or through gates so this needs to be considered for portable toilet hire.

Can the toilets be moved once on site?

We recommend that if you need the toilet moved more than a few metres from its current position that you contact us and we will arrange for one of our Operatives to move the toilet for you to, ensure the move is carried out safely and without damage to the portable toilet. If you need to move the toilet whilst it’s on hire, please be careful. You need to ensure our operatives still have clear access to the toilet for cleaning & servicing.

Can I dispose of sanitary products or paper towels or baby wipes in the Portable Toilet?

No. Please do not put anything other than toilet roll into the toilet as this can cause serious blockages. If a toilet becomes blocked and we are called out to fix the problem, extra charges may apply. This will be explained at the time of booking and installation.

    Can the Toilets be locked?

Toilets can be locked when not in use, either with a coin or securing a cable tie or small padlock through the metal hasp on the door. For more security, there is a metal hasp which can be secured using a padlock. We recommend using a combination padlock so you can advise us of the code. This then ensures we can carry out the weekly cleaning and servicing if you are not on site.

Can I use my own cleaning products to clean the Toilet?

The chemicals used in our portable loos are made specifically for portable toilets and are biodegradable. No other chemicals should be added to the tank as it can cause them to be less effective. If you require a copy of the Health & Safety (COSHH) Datasheets regarding the chemicals we use please contact us and we’ll be happy to supply.

The Portable Toilet is not flushing. How do I fix it?

If the toilet is not flushing then please contact us immediately and we will get an operative out to you as soon as possible to resolve the problem for you.

Do I have to provide a portable toilet for my workers?

The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) advise that if you employ anyone you must so far as reasonably practicable provide adequate and appropriate welfare facilities for them while they are at work. This includes toilet facilities.

How much notice do you need when booking a portable toilet?

We appreciate as much notice as possible to ensure we can deliver the toilet on the first day you need it. We work on a first-come, first-served basis, so the more notice you can give us the better. We will always strive to provide a suitable solution for you.

Are you registered under the Waste (England & Wales) Regulations 2011?

Yes, we most definitely are. Please feel free to contact us if require a copy of our certificate.

Are there any booking terms and conditions when hiring a portable toilet?

Can I rent toilets for a private event?

Our single cubicle toilets and accessible units are perfect for any event such as music or sporting events. Our event toilets are not used on construction sites and are deep cleaned, stocked with toilet rolls and hand sanitiser before delivery.

Do I need to arrange insurance in case of damage or vandalism to the equipment at my event?

Any damage or loss incurred whilst the unit is on hire to you is chargeable. Please speak to us regarding insurance coverage at the time of booking, we’ll be happy to help and advise.
